Why?

It’s a great idea to change the password on your UniFiPi from default because anyone doing a quick network scan can tell that the device is a raspberry pi and what’s the first username and password they are going to try? The default user name and password on 99% of Raspberry Pi operating systems. Equally changing the password to “123456” doesn’t help very much either…

How?

  1. Log into your unifipi at https://unifipi.local using username pi and password raspberry
  2. Click “System” -> “Change Passwords”
  3. Click the ‘pi’ user:
  4. Change the password and click the “Change” button
  5. Password is changed, click the “Return to User List” button
